DEACON
The purpose of the deacon ministry at River View Baptist Church is to serve God and His people. Deacons are servants set apart by the church to minister to the people. Here are just a few ways that the deacons of RVBC can serve others:
- Visiting with you
- Sharing Christ with unsaved family members
- Celebrating personal triumphs with you
- Giving support in times of crisis
- Answering questions about your faith and the church
- Praying for you and with you
Each church member is able to serve with our deacons on deacon teams.
Please consider the deacons of River View Baptist Church as friends that are here for you.
1:8 MISSIONS
Food/Clothes Pantry
From time to time, people need a helping hand. The food and clothes pantry ministry exists to provide help in times of need for our Church family and community. These are at no cost and are available to anyone who is in need of it. See any of our church members, our Pastor, or deacons for need and confidentiality. This ministry is available through the love of our church family.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was
thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger
and you invited me in" Matthew 25:35
Mission Work
Each year there are opportunities to be involved in local, state, national, and international mission trips. You can be involved by going, praying, or giving.
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come
upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and
in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8
DISCIPLE MAKING
And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2
Disciple making is a command of the Lord Jesus for all followers of Him. Jesus Himself modeled this in His own life with the twelve disciples and they in turn discipled many others. Here at RVBC, we provide a disciple making ministry to help followers of Christ grow in their walk with the Lord and then teach you how to replicate this with others. We offer a nine week Beginning Steps group to help followers of Christ understand the basics such as how to pray, how to read and understand the Bible, how to overcome temptation, and much more. After this, the are opportunities for one to one discipleship as well as group discipleship which we call D-Groups.
