What to expect?
The RVBC family is more interested in you than we are about what you are wearing. When you arrive for any service, you will quickly notice that people are dressed differently. There will be some in suits or dresses, while others will be in more casual attire; even blue jeans and t-shirts. What you have on is not very important compared to you and your family hearing about Jesus and being welcomed.
The Sunday morning worship services will include a welcome, prayer, worship music, an offering, and a sermon. The music is blended which will include hymns and modern worship music. The offering time is a moment for the RVBC family to give their tithes and offerings, but as a visitor please do not feel obligated to give anything. There will be visitor cards at the Welcome Center and we would love for you to fill that out and place in the offering plate by the sanctuary exits, but only if you wish to do so. You will quickly notice that the sermon will be straight from the Bible and applicable to real life. We place a high value on the authority of all scripture. After the sermon, an invitation will be given for people to respond. At this time, feel free to come to the altar to pray or to talk to someone. The Sunday evening worship services are set aside for worship, prayer, and more in depth Bible study groups. Many of our annual events also occur on Sunday nights. Wednesday night services are a big night for the children and youth. The children will meet in the Kid's Kove and have Bible study, crafts, games and can play some in the gym. The youth meet in the youth room for worship and a brief sermon and then go to breakout sessions divided by age and gender for more in depth Bible study. Adults can attend Bible study groups that are offered. These classes change regularly to cover different topics.
There is a nursery and Kid's Church available during the 11:00 AM worship service on Sundays. The nursery is for newborn up to 2 and those that are still in diapers. The Children's Church is a church service for ages 3 - 9 where they will participate in music and hear a Bible lesson that is designed for their understanding. Someone will help you register your child and show you where they will be. Wednesday night services have something for the entire family. |
